A very high electricity price is 0.30 U.S. Dollar per kWh for household users. Based on this rate, the highest-performing NVIDIA card, operating non-stop at full capacity 24/7 without interruption will cost:
 

Power consumption per day (in kilowatt-hours):
200 watts * 24 hours / 1000 = 4.8 kWh
 

Daily electricity cost:
4.8 kWh * $0.30/kWh = $1.44
 

GPU Monthly electricity cost:
$1.44/day * 30 days = $43.20

To simplify the process and eliminate the need for complex calculations on a per-model or per-card basis, we have implemented static thresholds for electricity usage calculation. By measuring GPU utilization and considering the baseline power consumption during idle or low-demand situations (20W for the GPU and 40W for other components), we can estimate the total system power usage during computations.
 

The duration of the computing workload plays a crucial role in determining the total contribution. By tracking the length of time that users contribute their computing power, we calculate the energy consumed during that specific period.
